| Recent settlements: | TK (confidential) – Cerebral Palsy Claim: Fetal distress was not acted upon and as a result the Claimant was born with profound and life limiting injuries, which would have been avoided with appropriate care and intervention during the labour/delivery.
The Claimant was awarded a lump sum settlement of £2.45m and annual payments of £165,000 increasing to £200,000 on the Claimant attaining 23 years of age. MR (confidential) – Negligent Spinal Surgery: The negligent surgery resulted in damage to the Claimant’s L5 nerve and amputation of the affected leg. As a result the Claimant was confined to a wheelchair and has ongoing significant difficulties.
