Delay in diagnosing spinal abscess in elderly patient resulting in paralysis.Settled for £700k. Re B - Delay in diagnosing and managing anastomatic leak. This is after major bowel surgery. The client developed necrotizing fasciitis. Settled for £180,000. Re T - Delay in diagnosing and treating Cauda Equina Syndrome. Settled for £230,000. Re D - Negligence during cardiac surgery leading to amputation of the Claimant's feet and two separate brain injuries. Proceeded to split trial on liability and won. Proceeded to quantify the claim and settled in the sum of 1.6 million. Re W - Cerebral Palsy claim. Agreed 50/50 split on liability. Settled for a lump sum payment of 1 million pounds plus periodical payments of £80,000 per annum. Re OB - Failure to appropriately manage CSF leak after brain tumour surgery. Settled for £728,000. Re W Claim arising for negligently performed squint surgery. Settled for £105,000. Re T The Claimant broke his leg. Mismanagement of the fracture and delay in diagnosing and treating an infection led to an above the knee amputation. Settled for £880,000. |
