General Information: Over three decades of experience as a specialist personal injury lawyer, Nigel Tomkins is an Executive Committee Member and a Fellow of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. He is also the digest editor of JPIL, the Journal of Personal Injury Law.

Formerly Associate Professor of Civil Litigation with the College of Law Nigel was a working party member on Lord Woolf's Civil Justice Review and is a co-author of the Pre-Action Protocols on Personal Injury and Occupational Disease.

He has been a contributing author to "The Source Book on Asbestos Diseases" published in the USA as well as a number of British legal text books. Other published works include the TUC Guide "How to Win an RSI Compensation Claim" and the “APIL Guide to Accidents at Work” (with Matthew Stockwell and Michael Humphreys).

Nigel has published many articles related to personal injury law. He lectures and advises widely on a variety of legal and health and safety subjects throughout the British Isles. He has spoken at international conferences in a number of European countries and the USA.
