Public Sector

Our Public Sector team has a demonstrable track record of giving true "added value". We have been a pioneer in demonstrating genuine partnership working with a range of public sector client bodies, including local authorities, NHS Trusts and universities (see our "Education sector" information), having already enjoyed one of the first true partnerships in the public sector with a major local authority for 5 years 2001-2006.

Our work in the sector includes major infrastructure, regeneration and procurement support for a range of projects on behalf of authorities across the UK.

We are one of the 4 firms chosen to work with EM LawShare, a ground-breaking consortium of over 30 local authorities in the East Midlands region whose aim is to provide a more cost-effective, timely and comprehensive legal service to the authorities concerned and which was a response to the Gershon efficiency agenda. This initiative was led by Nottinghamshire County Council, Derbyshire County Council, Derby City Council and Bassetlaw. The Consortium commenced operation in 2006 and is already demonstrating considerable savings to its members. Key benefits involve sharing advice and resources, a tailored training programme, bespoke website and news and information service.

We see our role as an extension to your in-house team, giving flexibility and support where it is needed whilst ensuring fast, focussed and cost effective delivery of services to your members and the public.

We run a quarterly Public Sector forum for lawyers and bulletins. The workshops are available on podcast.
