A great deal of product is now sourced from the Far East, Poland and the rest of the former Eastern Block. We have the experience and can advise you on the enforceability of contracts and on managing your risk. We also have experience of call centres and outsourcing offshore.
A key area is product liability, in particular the traceability of products to batch numbers: we consider and advise on the practical issues as well as the legal position. We have expertise in contracts covering areas such as printing, point of sale equipment, IT systems, PR and marketing consultants and telephone/internet retailing. The ethos of our retail team is to manage risk and where possible avoid disputes, which is why members of our team both negotiate/ advise upon contracts to anticipate and deal with areas of potential risk as well as manage disputes which may arise.
We manage property portfolios for our retail clients and provide all the necessary advice involved in acquiring and maximising value from retail space.
We have a large planning team of town planners and lawyers skilled in maximising value from your assets.
As well as conducting trade mark work in-house (we do not sub-contract to trade mark agents), we offer a far more comprehensive branding service than might be expected from a law firm. This service includes the whole brand life cycle, from brand strategy advice, to brand creation and brand clearance searching. We advise on protecting brands and defending claims brought by others for using brands or products similar to theirs.
