FREETH CARTWRIGHT QUIZ HELPS SUPPORT RAINBOWS

Leicester law firm Freeth Cartwright has hosted its Annual Charity Quiz at the Walkers’ Stadium, raising almost £1,000 for Rainbows Children’s Hospice in the process.

The winner of the 10-round quiz, once again chaired by former Leicester Mercury managing director Tony Hill, was the team from Syston-based chartered accountants Burton Wallis, featuring Ray Boot, Lynne Ash, David Sturgess-Bowes and Keith Andrews.

As well as the coveted trophy, Burton Wallis also picked up a meal for four and champagne at Bistro Pierre. A signed Leicester City Football Club football went to second-placed Meridian-based independent financial advisors, Hyrifa Ltd.

Third-placed Royal Bank of Scotland took home a signed Leicestershire County Cricket Club bat.

Freeth Cartwright’s Julian Middleton, managing partner at the firm’s New Walk offices, said: “Rainbows is a charity that is well worth our support and it’s an honour for us to be of help in some way. We always have a great turnout from the professional firms in Leicestershire and we would like to thank them for taking part.”

Rowan MacMillan, corporate fund-raiser for Rainbows, thanked Freeth Cartwright for hosting the quiz, now in its sixth year, and gave quiz-goers a brief review of the important role that Rainbows has and some of the funding challenges that it faces.
