Freeth Cartwright recruits Corporate Finance partner
FREETH CARTWRIGHT RECRUITS CORPORATE FINANCE PARTNER
Law firm Freeth Cartwright has continued its expansion plans in Birmingham with the hire of corporate finance specialist Lee Clifford.
The 34-year-old has joined as a partner from the Birmingham office of Pinsent Masons, where he has spent 10 years working in the corporate team, specialising in M&A and private equity work.
Lee commented: “Freeth Cartwright has developed an excellent reputation in doing high quality corporate transactions and I believe the firm can add real value to the local market”.
“The strength of the corporate team is illustrated in the statistics - in the last 12 months the team has completed over 130 deals with a total deal value of over £1.5 billion”
Whilst at Pinsents, Lee played a key role on a number of high profile transactions. He represented the management of Doncasters Group Limited on its sale to Dubai International Capital and the selling shareholders of Dennis Eagle, which was acquired by Spanish company, Ros Roca.
Lee added: “the true strength of Freeth Cartwright is that it is able to provide not only a partner lead corporate service but a one stop shop for corporate clients, with a full complement of lawyers in specialist areas such as banking, tax, share option, real estate and employment. Expertise in these areas is critical to any successful corporate transaction.”
The Birmingham office of Freeth Cartwright only opened in December but it is already proving to be a great success.
Richard Beverley, managing partner of Freeth Cartwright’s Birmingham office, commented: “Lee is well-known in the local corporate market and the addition of someone of his calibre adds great strength to the Birmingham team.”
