FREETH CARTWRIGHT INSOLVENCY LAWYER SCORES TOP MARKS

Award-winning law firm Freeth Cartwright is celebrating once again after one of its specialists gained a prize for being the highest-placed lawyer in insolvency exam results.

Kevin Pinkerton, an associate at the firm’s Manchester office, in Oxford Street, achieved a top national result in the 2007 Joint Insolvency Examinations run by the Association of Business Recovery Professionals.

Joey Byrne, head of insolvency at the Manchester office, commented: “These exams, which have a reputation for being particularly challenging, are taken each year by accountants and lawyers who specialise in the field of corporate recovery and insolvency.

“Accountants and lawyers must pass these exams to act as a licensed insolvency practitioner in respect of companies and/or individuals in financial difficulty. We were absolutely delighted when the results for the 2007 examinations were recently published.”

Around 260 accountants and lawyers from across the country sat the exams in London, Birmingham and Manchester.

“Since the opening of Freeth Cartwright’s Manchester office two years ago, our corporate recovery and insolvency team has gone from strength to strength. Kevin is a valuable asset to this team and gaining this top award is testament to his hard work and commitment to the job,” says John May, Managing Partner of the Manchester office of Freeth Cartwright LLP.
