MAKE THE CORPORATE CHALLENGE YOUR BUSINESS

The business community of the East Midlands is being urged to get on their bikes and raise money for charity.

Law firm Freeth Cartwright, with offices in Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Birmingham and Manchester is sponsoring the inaugural Corporate Challenge part of the Great Notts Bike Ride, taking place on June 22 with the National Water Sports Centre at Holme Pierrepont as the start and finish point.

Freeth Cartwright is hoping that the Corporate Challenge will raise more than £50,000 for five nominated charities, including Marie Curie Cancer Care, Celebral Palsy Sport, When You Wish Upon a Star, Rainbows Hospice and the Geoff Thomas Foundation.

Businesses are invited to enter teams of five, with every rider being asked to complete the whole of the 18 or 50 mile routes - this is not a relay race. The Challenge is to be the team raising the most money in sponsorship.

Philippa Dempster, partner and head of commercial services at Freeth Cartwright, commented: “The emphasis is on teams of people from the business community getting together, having fun and most importantly, raising as much money for charity as possible.

“To support businesses who are entering teams or proposing to, we are hosting a Corporate Challenge launch on Monday, April 28 at our Cumberland Court offices in Nottingham, where businesses will be able to find out more about the challenge and how else they can be involved, such as through staff volunteering to help out on the day.”

The price of entry is to the Corporate Challenge is £250 per team (with £100 going directly to charity) and a prize will be awarded to the team that raises the most money. Hospitality at the end of the challenge will be available to the weary riders.
