Confidence in the commercial property sector has been highlighted with the appointment of six new partners to the real estate team at the Nottingham office of law firm Freeth Cartwright.

Senior associates Mark Gradwell, Matthew Grocock, Atiyya Khaliq, Sophie Philippon-Thomas, Isobel Radford and Gillian Roberts specialise in areas ranging from institutional lending, investment property, property portfolio management, regeneration, landlord and tenant issues and compulsory purchase orders.

Freeth Cartwright’s Nigel Haynes, head of real estate, Nottingham, (pictured above with the 6 new real estate partners) commented: “Along with Rena Magdani, a new partner in the employment unit, this is the highest number of internal admissions in any one year and is a reflection of the firm’s commitment to developing its staff. The invitations to join the partnership are based wholly on merit and all seven new partners have shown the required attributes to become partners.

“The appointment of six new partners to the real estate team shows a real sense that a much-talked about downturn in the market is not yet happening, and although financial institutions are more cautious and talking more to each other, we are seeing that cash-rich investors are seizing the opportunities that can be had.”

Freeth Cartwright was recently announced as a new member of the coveted Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to Work For list, an accolade that came shortly after the firm secured a prestigious Best Companies award.

The firm, with offices across Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Manchester and Birmingham, now numbers in excess of 70 partners and 500 staff.
