FREETH CARTWRIGHT CORPORATE CHALLENGE BIKE RIDE - SUNDAY 22 JUNE 2008
The inaugural Freeth Cartwright Corporate Challenge took place on Sunday 22 June as part of the Great Notts Bike Ride. The business community came together to cycle in blustery conditions to raise money for five nominated charities: Marie Curie Cancer Care, Cerebral Palsy Sport, When You Wish Upon a Star, Rainbows Hospice and the Geoff Thomas Foundation.

With ever increasing numbers of staff signed off work with depression, the Review looks at ACAS guidance on how to spot and deal with this issue in the workplace.
Cases concerning employment liability for suicide, sick pay during maternity leave and striking out defences to claims where employers intimidate claimants are also featured.

HOUSE OF LORDS JUDGEMENT IN FREETH CARTWRIGHT PRODUCT LIABILITY CASE
The House of lords today referred a case run by Freeth Cartwright back to the European Court asking it to decide whether the interpretation argued for by counsel instructed by Freeth Cartwright on behalf of the Claimant was correct as 4 of their Lordships thought or whether the European Court judgment had another meaning as held by one House of Lords judge. The case involves a young disabled child who claims that his disability results from a defective vaccine.
