KIDS HAVE A WHEELY EXCELLENT TIME WITH FREETH CARTWRIGHT!
Law firm Freeth Cartwright has been encouraging children to get on their bikes this summer, by presenting one artistic youngster with a brand new bicycle.
Freeth Cartwright, sponsors of the Great Notts Bike Ride Corporate Challenge on June 22, launched a bicycle themed picture competition with the pupils of Scotholme Primary School, in Fisher Street, Hyson Green.
The prize for the pupil drawing the winning picture was a top-of-the-range bike, helmet and lock, courtesy of Holcros Cycles, Sherbrook Business Centre, Nottingham.
Dinner ladies at the school selected eight finalists, from which the name of the eventual winner, 11-year old Erdem Donmez, was drawn. Freeth Cartwright presented Erdem with his bike at an afternoon assembly when the finalists and winner were announced.
Philippa Dempster, head of commercial services at Freeth Cartwright (pictured with Robert Nieri and Erdem) said: “Erdem was a well-deserving winner and hopefully he will be able to enjoy all the freedom that this healthy outdoor activity can bring in the coming summer months.
“At Freeth Cartwright we are committed to providing support and help to the community and we feel that this particular project helps set a good example about healthy living to the whole school community.”
Freeth Cartwright staff have an established relationship with Scotholme Primary School, attending the school regularly to read and talk to the children on a one-to-one basis as part of the firms Right to Read initiative.
The Freeth Cartwright team also provides regular help at the school’s breakfast club, with volunteers attending to offer support to youngsters and provide an opportunity for pupils to develop their social skills by talking with adults.
The Freeth Cartwright Corporate Challenge was a new element to the Boots-sponsored annual Great Notts Bike Ride, a series of rides which took place on June 22, starting and ending at the National Watersports Centre at Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham.
