TV PRESENTER LAUNCHES PHOTO EXHIBITION AT CONFERENCE

East Midlands Today presenter Dominic Heale was on hand to help launch a photography exhibition held as part of a pioneering conference that brought together leading international practitioners in the field of acquired brain injuries (ABI) in young people.

Entitled A New Sense of Self, and presented by the charity Trust-Ed, the event was held at the East Midlands Conference Centre and examined how people cope with social and behavioural changes following ABI in childhood and adolescence.

Beth Wicks, chair of Nottingham-based Trust-Ed, commented: “The conference was well attended we are grateful to Dominic for being able to attend and launch the photography exhibition, which was a way in which people could show how ABI has affected their lives.”

The conference was organized by law firm Freeth Cartwright and the programme included a number of contributions from young people, their family members and professionals working with them to describe their personal experiences.

Trust-Ed is a charity that has support from a number of organisations, including The Encephalitis Society, The Child Brain Injury Trust, Headway - the brain injury association and the Brain & Spine Foundation.

All profits received from this conference will be used to further these aims.
