It’s a Knockout!
On Saturday 16th May regional firm of solicitors Freeth Cartwright entered a team for It’s a Knockout at Derby Rugby Club. The event was organised to raise funds for two East Midlands-based charities, Cerebral Palsy Sport and When You Wish Upon a Star.
Highlights included the team winning a race on two skis by carting a damsel in distress in a wheelbarrow and just being soaked by foam and rain throughout the course of the morning.
Mike Copestake, senior partner at Freeth Cartwright’s Derby office, led the team to a respectable fifth place - which would have been even more respectable had the team been given the opportunity to play its joker!
Mike said: “A good day was had by all. It’s not often you associate the words “lawyers” and “fun” in the same sentence but nothing could dampen anyone’s spirits during the tournament which will hopefully result in all the teams raising nearly £9,000 for CP Sport and When You Wish Upon a Star”.
These charities will also benefit as two of the nominated charities being supported by the Freeth Cartwright Corporate Challenge Bike Ride which will take place again on Sunday, 21 June, beginning at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham.
