FREETH CARTWRIGHT’S BIRMINGHAM LAWYERS RACE TO THE TOP
A team of Birmingham lawyers has shown their competition a clean pair of heels by winning the Corporate Relay Challenge in the annual Great Midlands Fun Run, held this month in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands.
The intrepid runners, who covered the hilly 8.5 mile course in just over an hour and in sweltering heat, were Kirsten Walters, Anna Falla, Lee Clifford and Frank Beeton. They beat off fifteen other regional teams, all raising a substantial four-figure sum for local charities.
Freeth Cartwright’s Birmingham head of corporate, Lee Clifford (pictured), who ran the first leg of the event weaving speedily past Humpty Dumpty and Superman, said: “We were absolutely amazed to win, particularly since it’s the first time we’ve ever entered anything like this. In fact, it wasn’t until the Wednesday before the event that we had time to organise a dummy run to see if we could actually manage the mileage!
“We obviously have hidden strengths - I’m just not sure running is one of them! Seriously, though, this has been a great opportunity to meet other members of the local business community in a less formal environment than usual. We shall be back to defend our trophy next year!”
The Birmingham office of Freeth Cartwright, which specialises in a full range of commercial services, was launched in January last year and has subsequently seen a significant growth in its client base.
In April this year, the expanding firm moved its Birmingham base into the heart of the city’s business community at 75 Colmore Row. The new offices now house a team of 14 solicitors and support staff, headed up by managing partner Richard Beverley.
Freeth Cartwright also has established offices in Nottingham, Leicester, Derby and Manchester.
