ENTER THE DRAGONS’ DEN!
Learners at Leicester College are being given the unique opportunity to apply for sponsorship from Solicitors Freeth Cartwright for development of their business ideas.
All learners studying at the College can enter the dragons’ den style competition with the successful entrants being awarded sponsorship of £5,000. This award will be made annually.
To enter the awards, learners, either individually or in teams of up to three, will submit a proposal on how they would best utilise the £5,000 sponsorship; whether that be for self employment, setting up a new enterprise idea or opportunities to support their studies.
Finalists will be invited to pitch their ideas to the dragons’ den style judging panel of representatives from Leicester College and Freeth Cartwright Solicitors.
Learners from all courses and of all ages are being encouraged to enter the award and the winner will be announced on 25 June 2010.
Mick Rodgers, Curriculum Area Manager for Business said: “As the award is open to all learners studying at the College, this is a fantastic opportunity for anyone that has a business idea and wants to see if they can take it further.
“We are delighted to be working in partnership with Freeth Cartwright Solicitors to provide this sponsorship and are looking forward to seeing some entrepreneurial ideas from the learners.”
Julian Middleton, Managing Partner of Freeth Cartwright’s Leicester office said: “It’s great to have this opportunity to support and encourage Leicester’s entrepreneurs of the future.”
