Are MBOs back on the private equity agenda?

They most certainly are, says Lee Clifford, head of corporate at Freeth Cartwright’s Birmingham office.

According to a new study by the Centre for Management Buy-out Research at Nottingham University Business School, private equity houses have returned to dealmaking after a two-year slump, completing £5bn of buy-outs in the UK in the first quarter, more than they achieved throughout the whole of 2009.

FREETH CARTWRIGHT APPOINTED TO PROVIDE LEGAL ADVICE TO LONDON COUNCILS CONSORTIUM

National heavyweight law firm Freeth Cartwright has been appointed to a panel to advise a Consortium of London Councils. The four year appointment will see the firm provide legal services to the 14 boroughs that make up the Consortium. The work will cover a number of areas including commercial, contracts, procurement & outsourcing, housing, property, PPP and PFI, planning, regeneration and construction litigation, environment, social care, child care, employment, litigation and regulatory matters.
