GET IN THE RUNNING FOR CORPORATE RELAY CHALLENGE

For the third year in succession, regional law firm Freeth Cartwright is inviting runners from the business world to take part in the Freeth Cartwright Corporate Relay Challenge, part of this year’s Leicester Marathon.

Teams of four runners will be entered into the relay event, which is being held to raise money for two nominated charities - LOROS and the Matt Hampson Trust.

The race will take place on Sunday, 10 October starting at 9.15 am and will involve each team member running approximately 3.25 miles over the half marathon course. Each runner will carry a band with a computer chip for timing purposes, which they will need to pass on to the next team runner at the fixed transition stages.

The event starts and finishes at Victoria Park, Leicester, with an entry fee of £80 per team.

Mike Cummins, a partner at Colton Square-based Freeth Cartwright and himself a keen runner, commented: “The Leicester Marathon is a superb event that is now a firm fixture in the events calendar for the city. We felt we should throw down the gauntlet to the business people of Leicester and further afield to get their running shoes on, compete in the team relay and raise money for charity at the same time.”

Christian Weikert-Picker, race director, said: “This event is another key piece to the whole experience of the Leicester City Marathon, and I am grateful to Freeth Cartwright for its continued support. The Corporate Relay promises to be fun yet challenging to those taking part, I am sure whether you are a serious runner or just on the path to fitness you’ll enjoy taking part; who knows, maybe next year you will take part in the full marathon!”

There will be hospitality at Victoria Park for the weary runners and Freeth Cartwright is keen to hear from anyone who does not want to run but does want to get involved.
