Sophie Philippon-Thomas, a real estate partner at Freeth Cartwright, has been appointed as a Notary Public, one of only 900 holders in England and Wales of one of the oldest titles in the UK legal profession.

The French Government is due to announce later this week whether it will pay for French women who had PIP breast implants to have them removed because of fears that the use by the manufacturers of unlicensed and untested silicone may cause health problems.
