Being entrepreneurial in a public sector environment

Friday, 10th October 2008 – 10 October: Birmingham Metropole Hotel, NEC

BEING ENTREPRENEURIAL IN A PUBLIC SECTOR ENVIRONMENT: TAKING EMPLOYER ENGAGEMENT FORWARD – AND MEETING THE CHALLENGES

With the focus from the LSC on the greater need for employer engagement, combined with the increased funding streams from Train2Gain, more than ever, you need to ensure that where you are participating, in such provision, you have reviewed and considered appropriate models for delivery.

Individual and consortium models are operated, which one is best suited to your college and your local community?

In addition, as you will be aware, Framework for Excellence clearly defines employer responsiveness and engagement as one measure of success. Consequently, the outcomes generated from such statistics will influence your college’s overall rating in the national league tables

Freeth Cartwright LLP and RSM Bentley Jennison have combined their respective expertise to present a seminar on the strategic options available in this arena, including the practicalities of colleges acquiring commercial training organisations as a means of delivery. We have also invited contributions from senior people from the sector who have practical experience on this arena.

Seminars have been arranged at the following venues:

  1. 15 September 2008: Northwest Regional Development Agency, Renaissance House, Centre Park, Warrington, Cheshire, WA1 1XB

  2. 10 October 2008: Birmingham Metropole, Harbet Drive, National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, B40 1PP.

The seminars will start at 10.00am and finish at 12.00pm.

The seminars will focus on:

1 The changing landscape creating an increasingly urgent demand for colleges to consider their strategies for employer engagement and growth in responsiveness.

2 Working with employers successfully - growing business opportunities.

3 Acquisitions and whether they are a viable route for Colleges?

The seminar is free of charge. However, places are limited and will be issued on a first come first served basis.
